Over 100 Taliban militants killed, 20 injured in clashes with security members across Afghanistan Taliban

Kabul: Over a 100 Taliban insurgents have been gunned down by security force members across Afghanistan on Friday.

The clashes took place in Paktika, Kunduz, Faryab and Kandahar provinces.

Operations in two districts of Kandahar alone accounted for the death of 106 insurgents, including nine commanders, while seven others were injured.

"97 Taliban including 9 of their commanders were killed and 7 others were were wounded in Zherai district of Kandahar Prov. last night. Also, 9 Taliban were killed in Shahwali Kot district and a large amount of their weapons and ammunitions were destroyed," a tweet from the ministry read.

In Faryab's Khawja Sabz Posh district, five Taliban insurgents were killed after they attacked Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) positions.

At least 10 Taliban militants were killed and five others wounded in Imam Saheb district of Kunduz province.

"... a large amount of their weapons and ammunitions were destroyed," a part of the defence ministry tweet read.

ANDSF also killed four Taliban insurgents and injured six others in Barmal district of Paktika province.
