Bangladesh: Covid-19 death toll touches 6,580 as another 36 die in a day Covid-19

Dhaka: In the last 24 hours, 36 more people have died due to coronavirus in the country. A total of 6,580 people have died so far in the country.

Meanwhile, another 1,908 people have been identified in between Friday and Saturday. Overall, the number of infected patients stood at 4,60,619.

Accoding to an official press release, 2,209 people, including asymptomatic patients, have recovered in the last 24 hours at various hospitals and homes across the country, including Dhaka City. So far, a total of 3,75,885 people have recovered.

Samples have been collected and tested in 118 labs under government and private management across the country. The total samples collected were 13,718 in 24 hours while a total of 14,012 samples, including the ones previously collected, have been tested.

So far 27,43,592 samples have been tested in the country.

The notification further said that in the last 24 hours, the sample test rate was 13.62 percent while the detection rate is 16.79 percent considering the sample test, the recovery rate is 81.60 percent considering the identified test and the mortality rate is 1.43 per cent considering the identified test.

The press release said 28 of the 36 people killed in 24 hours were men and eight were women.

Among the deceased, 30 were from Dhaka division and three in Khulna division. Besides, there are three each in Chittagong, Barisal and Rangpur divisions. All of them died in the hospital.
