Dhaka: The deadly coronavirus has claimed another 28 lives within 24 hours, taking the death toll to 6,416, according to an official press release.
During the same period, 2,419 new cases have been registered.
The total number of Covid-19 cases stood at 4,49,760.
According to the Department of Health, another 2,183 patients have been cured in the last one day.
The total number of recoveries has increased to 3,64,611 people.
The first case of coronavirus was detected in Bangladesh on March 8, and on October 26 it crossed 4,00,000.
Of these, 4,019 Covid-19 patients were identified on July 2, which is the highest in a single day.
According to the Department of Health, 16,059 samples have been tested in 117 labs across the country in the last 24 hours.
So far, 26,65,131 samples have been tested. Considering the sample test in 24 hours, the detection rate is 15.06 percent and the total detection rate is 16.88 percent.
The recovery rate is 81.07 percent and the death rate is 1.43 percent.
Of those who have died in the last one day, 21 are men and seven are women. All of them died at the hospital.
