Atlanta rapper DJ Unk, who is known for singing popular songs like 'Walk It Out' and '2 Step', died at 43, his family confirmed on Saturday.
The cause of his death is still not known.
His former Label Big Oomph Records posted on Instagram: "It is with a heavy heart and profound sadness that we announce the passing of a true ATL legend, Anthony Platt better known as 'DJ Unk'."
"We ask that you keep his family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. We also want to thank everyone who has supported DJ Unk and the Oomp Camp over the years. Rest in peace, Unk. You will forever be missed," the label said.
Anthony Leonard Platt, better known by his stage name Unk, was an American DJ, hype man, and rapper.
Platt began spinning records in 1998, and, after meeting DJ Jelly and DJ Montay, joined their DJ entourage, the Southern Style DJs. They performed for high school parties, proms, pep rallies, and other events around the state of Georgia.
In 2000, Big Oomp signed Unk to his label, Big Oomp Records. He released the album Beat'n Down Yo Block! in 2006 led by the single "Walk It Out" that reached the Billboard Hot 100 top 10.
