The blast left 70 people injured.

The incident happened in the Pul-e-Khoshk area of Dasht-e-Barchi after a suicide bomber detonated explosives close to the center, officials told Tolo News.

The Interior Ministry said that the suicide bomber was identified by security guards at the center and detonated his explosives before reaching his target, reports the news portal.

The Taliban denied its involvement in the incident.

Eyewitnesses told Tolo News dozens of students were in their classes when the attack happened.  

Several nearby houses were damaged by the blast.

US Chargé d’Affaires Ross Wilson  condemned the incident and tweeted: "I condemn today's cowardly suicide bombing of an educational center in Kabul. Afghans want a peaceful future and reject this violence, and Americans stand with them."

United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan tweeted: "UNAMA shares #Afghanistan’s deep revulsion at last night’s killing & injuring of more than 60 civilians, many of them youngsters, in a deliberate targeted attack at a #Kabul college. A callous & senseless war crime. Our condolences are with the families of the killed & hurt."
