Kabul: At least 56 Taliban militants were killed and 17 others injured in Afghanistan during a clearing operation by the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF).
According to the country's Defence Ministry, the ANDSF cleared the Herat-Pashton Zarghon highway from Taliban in preemptive operations.
"#ANDSF cleared off Herat-Pashton Zarghon highway from Taliban in preemptive operations. 56 Taliban were killed and 17 others were wounded during the operations. Taliban used to harass and extort civilians along the highway, before the operations were conducted," a tweet from the MoD read.
