Position Overview:

Village Enterprise is looking for a coordinator to fuel the growth and streamline the management of our institutional Partnerships portfolio. In this role, you will assist in researching and cultivating prospective institutional donors, including extensive donor landscape mapping and research, drafting donor reports and contributing to proposal development, and maintaining accuracy in the institutional partnerships salesforce database. Other duties will include the production of informational briefs and reports for cross-functional teams. The position will report to the Senior Manager of Institutional Partnerships and will work closely with both the US-based development team and the East-Africa based program teams.

Main Responsibilities:

Institutional Giving
Conduct research and analysis on prospective funders and provide recommendations, including strategies for approach, on potential funding opportunities.
Prepare high-quality grant reports as required in award specifications.
Assist in the drafting of full proposals, concept notes, and LOIs to private foundations and public agencies as requested by the Senior Manager of Institutional Partnerships.
Institutional Partnerships Database Management
Maintain high-quality internal information on salesforce database,
Manage up to date grant activity calendars (Report and proposal dates, etc)
General Development Support
Participate actively in development and staff meetings; prepare materials as needed
Prepare reports, executive summaries, project briefs, and related materials for institutional giving as appropriate
Perform other duties as requested by the Chief Development Officer and the Director of Development and Marketing

Required Experience and Skills:

B.A. in relevant field
1-4 years of experience working in a non-profit fundraising setting, preferably an international nonprofit.
Experience working in multicultural workplaces
Prior experience with drafting proposals and reports for institutional donors desired
General familiarity with the international development funding space
Ability to research and analyze funding opportunities relevant to Village Enterprise
Proficient in MS Office and Google Docs and Sheets
Excellent writing, editing, and organizational skills
Familiarity with CRMs, preferably salesforce
Motivated self-starter who takes initiative
Detail-oriented
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work independently
Ability to juggle multiple projects and work well under deadlines
Hands-on with execution, reliable, and accountable for agreed-upon deliverables
Preferred: Experience with formatting and Indesign
