State of Health Bangladesh logs 172 COVID-19 deaths in past 24 hours

Dhaka: Bangladesh, a country still witnessing a deadly wave of COVID-19, registered 172 deaths due to Coronavirus in the past 24 hours, media reports said on Wednesday.
During the same period, 7,248 new infections were reported.
With the latest development, the total number of deaths reached 24,719, while the number of total infections rose to 1,440,644 in the country, reports Dhaka Tribune.
Dhaka logged 4,152 cases, the highest among the divisions, followed by Chittagong with 1,124, the newspaper reported.
The disease, which is believed to have originated from China, has now touched nearly all the countries across the globe.
