 Coronavirus Dhaka: Coronavirus has killed 37 more people across Bangladesh in the last 24 hours. So far, the death toll in the country has risen to 11,833. Earlier, on March 26, 39 people died.
 At the same time, 1,682 new coronavirus patients have been identified. The total number of infected patients stood at 7,70,842.
 A press release signed by Additional Director General (Administration) of the Department of Health, Prof. Dr. Nasima Sultana, said on Friday (May 7) that 17,329 samples had been collected and 17,013 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The detection rate was 9.89 percent as compared to the sample test.
A total of 55,99,276 samples have been tested in the country so far. Compared to the total test, the detection rate is 13.77 percent.
The notification further said that 2,178 people have recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours. So far, a total of 7,04,341 people have recovered.
Of the 37 dead, 19 died in Dhaka division, 11 in Chittagong division, 2 each in Rajshahi and Sylhet divisions and 1 each in Khulna, Barisal and Mymensingh divisions.
Among the recent deceased were 23 men and 14 women. One of them died at home and the rest in hospitals.
