Covid-19: Bangladesh records 36 deaths, 1,134 fresh cases within 24 hours Covid-19

Dhaka: Bangladesh has reported 36 more deaths related to the novel coronavirus within 24 hours in between Wednesday and Thursday.

With the recent deaths, the toll has jumped to 7,192.

Meanwhile, the infection toll touched 4,96,975 after 1,134 new cases were reported during the last one day.

The detection rate is 8.60 percent, while the overall detection rate in Bangladesh is 16.37 percent.

During the 24 hours, 2,239 people recovered from the deadly virus, taking the recovery toll to 4,31,590.

As of Thursday, the overall recovery rate is 86.84 percent, while the death rate is 1.45 percent, according to an official press release.

Among the recent deaths recorded in the last 24 hours, 27 were male and nine female.

The first Covid-19 case was recorded on March 8 and the first death on March 18. Of the total deaths so far, 5,489 were male (76.32 percent) and 1,703 female (23.68 percent).

A total of 12,776 samples were collected in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of samples tested in Bangladesh to 30,35,728.
