Indian Naval Ship Sahyadri has successfully concluded its participation in the India-Republic of Korea Navy (IN-RoKN) Bilateral Exercise at Busan, South Korea, strengthening maritime cooperation and enhancing interoperability between the two navies.
The harbour phase of the exercise featured professional discussions, cross-deck visits, operational briefings and subject matter expert exchanges between personnel of the Indian Navy and the Republic of Korea Navy, according to a statement issued by the Indian government.
These interactions facilitated the exchange of operational perspectives and best practices, while cultural and sporting engagements helped foster camaraderie and strengthen ties between personnel of the two navies.
The sea phase translated these professional interactions into practical operational engagements, with INS Sahyadri and ROKS Munmu the Great undertaking coordinated navigation, helicopter operations and joint maritime manoeuvres.
The exercise provided an opportunity for both navies to practise coordination at sea, gain a better understanding of each other's operational procedures and enhance interoperability.
The successful conclusion of the exercise reflects India's and South Korea's shared commitment to deepening maritime cooperation through sustained engagement and collaboration.
Such interactions strengthen mutual trust and contribute to collective efforts to maintain peace, stability and security in the Indo-Pacific region.
