Washington/London: US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and UK Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab discussed the situation in Afghanistan following the twin blasts which rocked Kabul airport and left over 60 people dead.
"Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken spoke with UK Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab following the horrific terrorist attack in Kabul today," US State Department spokesperson Ned Price said in a statement.
" They agreed on the importance of continued close counterterrorism cooperation. They also discussed international engagement on the future of Afghanistan," he said.
More than 60 people died as twin blasts rocked Kabul airport in Afghanistan on Thursday, targeting those people who are attempting to flee the war-torn nation.
More than 60 people were killed, with civilians and 12 US military personnel among the dead, reports BBC.
The first attack, a suspected suicide bomb explosion, occurred outside Kabul airport while the second explosion took place near Baron Hotel right after the first one.
