Kabul: At least one policeman was killed and two others were wounded by gunmen in Afghanistan's Kabul on Tuesday.

The incident took place around 6:30 am in Bagrami district, local police officials said.

Reports said gunmen opened fire on the police after they made a fire to warm themselves in Botkhak village.

In a separate incident, at least two people, including the deputy governor of Kabul, Mahbubullah Muhibbi, were killed in a blast in the national capital on Tuesday morning.

The blast took place around 9:40 am in Kabul's Macroryan 4 area in the city's PD9 when an IED that was placed on the vehicle exploded, a police statement said.

No group has claimed responsibility so far.
