Gilgit-Baltistan Polls: Imran Khan's PTI takes lead in 9, opposition claims vote was 'stolen' GB Polls

Quetta: Unofficial results of the Gilgit-Baltistan assembly polls have showed Imran Khan's PTI leading in nine seats with opposition leader Bilawal Bhutto Zardari claiming that the election was 'stolen'.

The PTI was leading after having bagged nine seats, followed by independent candidates who have so far won seven seats, reports Dawn News.

The polling is deciding the fates of 330 candidates, which includes four women, as they are targeting to win 24 general seats in the third legislative assembly of Gilgit-Baltistan.

Voting took place on Sunday.

Minutes before closing of polling on Sunday, PPP vice president Sherry Rehman held a news conference in Gilgit and alleged that a number of election observers of the Free and Fair Election Network (Fafen) had been removed from the polling stations before the start of the counting process, reports Dawn News.

Bilawal tweeted: "My election has been stolen. I will be joining the people of Gilgit-Baltistan in their protest shortly."
