Rio de Janeiro: Brazil has reported over five million confirmed cases of coronavirus, reports said.
The death toll is nearing 150,000.
Presently, it stands at 148,304, while the total number of infections is 5,002,357.
The South American nation's infection rate is third highest in the world, behind the USA and India.
Critics have blamed President Jair Bolsonaro mismanagement for Brazil's condition, however, he has rejected the criticism.
According to Worldmeter, 4,391,424 people have recovered from respiratory disease so far.
