New York, Jan 1 (Just Earth News/IBNS): The United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH) has announced the death of two female police officers, whose bodies were found in their house in the northern town of Cap-Haïtien.
An investigation is continuing to shed light on what happened, according to the Mission.
The Secretary-General’s Special Representative and head of MINUSTAH, Sandra Honoré, offered her condolences to the families of the deceased.
MINUSTAH, set up in 2004, has more than 4,500 troops and police deployed in Haiti with a mandate that has evolved over the years from supporting a transitional government to embrace earthquake recovery and facilitating the political process.
