Actor Cillian Murphy, who is receiving positive reviews for his strong performance in Oppenheimer, has said he is open to playing the character of 'Ken' if there is a sequel to the Barbie movie made in future.
Box Office witnessed a showdown between Oppenheimer and Barbie as both movies were released on the same day last week.
"Would I play a Ken in Barbie 2? Sure," the Oppenheimer star, 47, recently told Cinéfilos with a laugh as quoted by People magazine.
"Let's read the script and let's have a conversation," he said.
Netziens had even joined to celebrate the release of the movies and coined the term "Barbenheimer" ahead of July 21.
Neon-coated Barbie is a 2023 American fantasy comedy film directed by Greta Gerwig and written by Gerwig and Noah Baumbach.
Based on the Barbie fashion dolls by Mattel, it is the first live-action Barbie film after numerous computer-animated direct-to-video and streaming television films. The film stars Margot Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Ken.
The movie faced tough opposition from the biographical thriller film Oppenheimer.
Directed by Christopher Nolan, the movie is based on the 2005 biography American Prometheus by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin, the film chronicles the life of J. Robert Oppenheimer, a theoretical physicist who was pivotal in developing the first nuclear weapons as part of the Manhattan Project, and thereby ushering in the Atomic Age.
Both movies are rocking at the global box office.
