A 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a local youth in Pakistan's Narowal district, highlighting concerns over the safety and security of women and children in the country.
The accused allegedly threatened to kill the teenager after learning that she had become pregnant and warned her against reporting the incident to the police.
According to Dawn News, the girl's father told police that the incident took place around seven months ago when his 14-year-old daughter was alone at home. The accused allegedly entered the house and raped her.
The girl was taken to a hospital after her health deteriorated, where doctors discovered that she was seven months pregnant.
She later told her mother about the alleged assault.
Following the disclosure, Shakargarh City Police Station registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the accused. Police said the suspect had fled the village and efforts were underway to trace him.
