Unidentified gunmen shot dead an Afghan cleric in Pakistan's Peshawar city recently, media reports said.
The incident occurred at a time when Pakistan reported a spike in harassment faced by Afghan refugees and their deportations.
The deceased person was identified as Adam Khan.
He was an Afghan imam from Paktia province.
He was attacked while he was returning home on a motorcycle.
He died instantly, officers told Khaama Press.
Investigators have launched an investigation into the incident.
The motive behind the attack remains unclear.
