The doctors of Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH), one of the largest public healthcare facility under the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) in Pakistan, recently demonstrated over non-payment of salaries, media reports said.
They demonstrated after assembling outside the medical superintendent's office on Friday.
Postgraduate doctors reported not receiving their salaries for the past month, while house officers claimed they have been without pay for three months, reported The Express Tribune.
Medical Superintendent (MS) of ASH, Dr Javed Iqbal, addressed the doctors when he assured them that their payments would be processed.
He said those who have not been receiving their salaries for one or two months will receive them within eight months.
