Kabul University terror attack: death toll touches 19 Kabul University

Kabul: The death toll in the terror attack in Kabul university on Monday left 19 people dead and 22 others hurt, media reports said on Tuesday.

The attack ended after six hours since it commenced on Monday morning.

According to MOI all of the three militants are killed during the combat and rescue operation, reports Khaama Press.

Militants entered the campus around 11 am this morning, heading towards LAW Faculty which is reported to be the main target, the news agency reported.

According to media reports, hundreds of students were present inside the campus when the attack took place.

The UN chief strongly condemned the “horrific attack” on Monday at Kabul University in Afghanistan.

In a statement issued through his deputy spokesperson, Farhan Haq, Secretary-General António Guterres expressed his “deepest sympathies to the families of the victims and wishes a speedy recovery to those injured”.

Indian PM Narendra Modi also condemned the incident and tweeted: "I strongly condemn the cowardly terrorist attack at Kabul University today. Our prayers are with the families of the victims and the injured. We will continue to support Afghanistan's brave struggle against terrorism."
