A US woman, whose son is accused of killing four people during a shooting incident, is now facing allegations of taping her elderly mother to a chair, stealing her phone and damaging her home, media reports said.
Marcee Gray was indicted Monday in Ben Hill County, Ga., for the alleged abuse of her own mom, Deborah Polhamus in November — who was bound to a chair for almost 24 hours in her Fitzgerald home, reported The New York Post quoting The Atlanta-Journal Constitution.
Gray, 43, was slapped with several charges including, exploitation and intimidation of an elderly person, false imprisonment, criminal damage to property in the second degree, and theft, the newspaper reported.
If proven guilty, Gray might face up to 20 years in prison for the top charge of felony elder exploitation.
Apalachee High School shooter Colt, who killed two teachers and students during the shooting incident recently, was raised in a troubled home, media reports said.
Colt Gray, the baby-face Georgia school shooting suspect who is charged with murdering two classmates and two teachers, grew up in a broken and neglectful home, which police and child services visited on a regular basis, a former neighbour and landlord told The New York Post earlier.
Colt's father Colin Gray was arrested with authorities saying he 'knowingly allowed his son' to have the weapon.
Colin Gray was arrested with four counts of Involuntary Manslaughter, two charges of Second Degree Murder and eight of Cruelty to Children, said the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).
Colt Gray was charged with four counts of felony murder in connection to the shooting at Apalachee High School, an incident which left the country shocked.
