A pilot died and a passenger was injured after a light plane crashed in the Australian state of Victoria on Sunday morning, according to the local police.
At about 7:15 a.m. local time, a gyrocopter plunged to the ground at a private property on Snipey Road in Goulburn Weir, located about 145 km north of Melbourne.
Victoria Police confirmed in a statement that there were two people on board.
"The yet-to-be-formally identified pilot died at the scene and his passenger was airlifted to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries," the police said.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
At the current stage, the exact cause of the crash is yet to be determined.
The police also called on anyone who witnessed the incident to provide related information or video footage.
