Quetta: At least 22 people, including women and children, died when the van in which they were travelling on the Zhob National Highway in Pakistan's Balochistan region plunged hundreds of feet into a ravine near Killa Saifullah on Wednesday, media reports said.
A child was hurt in the mishap.
The ill-fated van, with approximately 23 people on board, had left Loralai for Zhob, the district's deputy commissioner, Hafiz Muhammad Qasim told Dawn News.
"The vehicle fell from a hilltop near Akhtarzai and 22 travellers aboard were reportedly killed in the accident," he told the newspaper.
Rescue 1122 officials said bodies of the deceased people have been shifted to Killa Saifullah District Headquarters Hospital.
The deceased included five children, five women, and 11 men, reports Dawn News.
Pakistan Foreign Minister Bilwal Bhutto Zardari condoled the death of people in the mishap.
