Position Purpose

The Communications Production Specialist serves as a member of the team responsible for the production and distribution of donor engagement material. This person will be responsible for producing the daily donor engagement material and contributing to the regular data integrity maintenance for child sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Key Result #1 – Serve as a member of the team to produce Child Sponsor and Donor engagement / reporting pieces (90% of time).

• Forward Child Sponsorship Correspondence coming either from Field Offices or the Correspondence Processing team;
• Print re-engagement communications for active sponsors that have missed committed donations;
• Print Sponsorship Welcome and Re-assignment Packets;
• Process and maintain child and sponsor data in the FH databases.
• Print Commitment Statements and / or Receipts, and update the associated messages monthly
• Print all miscellaneous production items that may not be daily prints, such as Gift Catalog “in honor of” cards, Visa Updater Letters, etc.

Key Result #2 – Support other departmental activities to enhance the sponsor and donor experience (10% of time).

• Assist the Postal Specialist in Mail Room Operations as needed;
• Assist with other department activities as assigned or needed, to allow us to better serve sponsors and donors.

• Demonstrated computer operating skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office products, Google platform, and virtual technologies such as Skype and/or GoToMeeting;
• Detail oriented a must. Willing to sort through thousands of documents or accounts to validate or make corrections;
• Excellent organizational skills; ability to plan and coordinate work, ensure the efficient flow of projects and processes;
• Experience with PlanetPress Connect or an equivalent variable data production software helpful;
• Ability to sit at a computer for up to 8 hours a day doing repetitive motions on a keyboard;
• Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds above shoulder height and up to 50 pounds on a regular basis;
• Able to stand for a several hours at a time;
• Able to multi-task and resume routine with multiple interruptions;
• Able to self-manage a diverse and dynamic set of responsibilities, proactively solve problems and / or suggest viable solutions while advancing goals and objectives;
• Excellent people skills including warmth and sensitivity, conversational, able to relate to and effectively communicate with people from different cultures (at various levels within the organization);
• Ability to travel up to 5% of time per year in the US and internationally, to insecure countries or locations.

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university preferred; one year related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Supervisor Responsibilities: This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.

Language: Proficiency in spoken and written English. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
