The Near East Foundation (NEF) is seeking candidates for a Capacity Building Officer to be based in Irbid/Kfarsoum, Jordan.

For over 100 years, NEF has worked to build more sustainable, prosperous, and inclusive communities in the Middle East and Africa through education, governance, and economic development initiatives. NEF’s work is organized around three program areas: Peacebuilding through Economic Cooperation, Inclusive Economic Development, and Climate Resilient Development.

Position Description:

The Capacity Building Officer is expected to assist in the implementation of business skills training, vocational training, data collection and partner’s capacity building for a program that aims to reduce vulnerabilities to social protection risks for highly vulnerable Syrians and Jordanians and improve livelihoods and business scalability for Jordanian entrepreneurs through civil society-led, center-based interventions that are tailored to individual needs and include financial support, training, coaching and peer mentorship, and support networks. Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the Capacity Building Officer will have the following responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

• Support in developing training materials and delivering training and capacity building activities;
• Evaluate effectiveness of training delivered, reporting on results and making recommendations;
• Write technical reports for technical training outputs;
• Amend and revise programs to adapt to the work environment, as necessary;
• Coordinate with partners to identify training needs and opportunities;
• Assist the Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator in the collection of information in accordance with the project’s monitoring and evaluation strategy and action plan;
• Provide logistical support to the capacity buildings activities;
• Support other NEF’ activities as needed.

Contract Duration: 12 Months

Position pending. January 2020 anticipated start date.
