About the role
From leading our Prophetic Activist Scheme to creating opportunities for young adult Christians to raise their voice in the run up to the General Election, the Young Adult Activism Officer plays a vital role at Christian Aid. We believe in the power of young adults to play their part in tackling global poverty and driving systems change.
The Young Adult Activism Officer leads, and contributes to, multi-disciplinary projects engaging young adult Christians in campaigning and activism. They manage youth-specific campaigning and activism projects while also contributing to the development of inter-generational campaigns and activism activities. The role helps to ensure the voices of young adult Christians are present in our campaign planning.
The Young Adult Activism Officer sits within the Campaigns hub which is located within the UK Advocacy and Campaigns team, part of the Policy, Public Affairs and Campaigns Department. While a share of the postholder’s time will focus on direct youth engagement initiatives for young adult Christians, and facilitating a growing community of young Christian activists, it will also play a pivotal role in contributing to the wider Campaigns team’s development of campaigning and activism activities and opportunities that bring together people from multiple generations, drawing from insights into the needs, interests and concerns of young adults.
This role will include some evening and weekend working as required by relevant projects.
