LOOKING FOR A GRAPHIC DESIGNER

TO JOIN OUR INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE TEAM

Our work improves the environment and safety of pre- and post-disaster communities, schools, hospitals, historical monuments, international icons and more. We are currently seeking a Graphic Designer who has a passion for international development and humanitarian assistance work to become a member of our growing and dynamic global team.

Location: Puerto Rico

The Graphic Designer will be based in Puerto Rico and will work with team members in California, Washington D.C. and worldwide.

Responsibilities Include:

• Conceptualize visuals based on ideas from Communications and Project teams to develop graphs, infographics, and graphics
• Prepare rough drafts, present to team and revise as needed
• Ensure proper branding for all reports, visuals, and presentations, including colors, layouts and logos per Miyamoto or client brand standards
• Conduct basic research on target audience and context specifics to inform designs
• Format reports in Microsoft Word and/or InDesign to make content more visual, aesthetically pleasing, and easy to digest
• Format PowerPoint presentations to make content more visual, aesthetically pleasing, and easy to digest
• Simultaneously managing multiple projects with short deadlines

The salary range for this position is $36k-40k per year. Salary offers are determined using a variety of factors, including but not limited to: years of experience, education, depth of knowledge, geographic location, and equity with internal staff.

Requirements

Qualifications include:

• 4+ years graphic design experience
• Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
• Experience translating complex information into visuals and graphs
• Experience formatting reports and PowerPoints
• Proficiency in English writing, reading, and speaking
• Examples of past design and layout work, including 1 graphic and 1 report
• Bachelor's Degree in graphic design or a related field
• A strong background in design fundamentals, including conceptual, typographic, and layout skills
• Experience with print production and video production (video production not required but preferred)

Salary Description: $36-40k, per year
