Salary: $33,000-$41,000/DOE

Position Summary:

Anera is seeking a Finance and Grants Project Manager that is skilled at accounting, detail-oriented and who excels at multitasking. The manager will act as a point of contact between the different areas of the finance department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and external parties, such as vendors, clients, or lenders. Candidates should be analytical, collaborative and trustworthy. Responsible for journal entries, preparation of financial reports, taxes, audits, close out actions and resolution of discrepancies. To succeed as a finance and accounting manager, you should possess a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and grant management. You should be ethical, thorough, and attentive with effective verbal and written communication skills in English and Arabic, as well as superior follow-up skills. Experience with financial software systems and advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills are required.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform the administrative tasks to close out grants, cooperative agreements and other awards
• Assist in completing reporting requirements, financial management and grant timelines for multiple projects
• Perform invoicing, accounting, reporting, and other administrative functions to ensure successful execution of grant process
• Timely complete direct journal entries
• Monitor the compliance requirements for USAID and ensure all guidelines are carefully executed
• Assist in grant budget development and review process, including budget and expense analysis, financial reporting to funders, and grant closeout functions
• Ensures accuracy and completeness in all areas
• Participates in discussions with program staff, proposers and awardees regarding Anera’s policies, procedures, and requirements that pertain to the award, administration and management of grants and cooperative agreements
• Assist in providing necessary information for the preparation of board books, finance and audit committee meetings
• Assist with project financial, administrative, database entry and programmatic activities
• Organize and maintain grantee files and records.
• Keep relevant staff informed about upcoming deadlines and deliverables, thereby ensuring smooth completion of work responsibilities.
• Assist the International Grants Director with grant making activities that help to advance the goals and strategies of the organization.
• Maintain confidentiality of information.

Qualifications Required Experience and Skills:

• BA degree in accounting, finance, economics or related field
• 4+ years related work experience in budget review and expense report analytics
• 3+ experience utilizing finance software systems
• 2+ years prior experience of government cooperative agreements and grants
• 2+ years demonstrable experience managing multiple grant projects at once
• Advance skills with Google Spreadsheets
• Intermediate financial and analytical skills
• Ability to organize workflow and coordinate activities
• Critical thinker that possesses self-initiative and drive to accomplish tasks timely
• Must possess transparent interpersonal skills in order to communicate effectively with all staff levels ensuring smooth completion of work responsibilities
• Advance understanding of General Accounting principles
• Fluency in English required, Fluency in Arabic preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

• Independent critical and analytical thinker with keen attention to detail required
• Interest in Finance and Contract Management
• Experience using the MIP Abila or Sage software a plus
• Demonstrable knowledge of the socio-political situation in the Levant, particularly Palestine and Lebanon
• Experience in the non-profit arena

Travel:

This role does not require travel but having the ability to travel internationally is a plus
