Research Analyst

Technology and International Affairs Program

The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, a unique global network of policy research is seeking a research analyst to work with scholars in its DC-based Technology and International Affairs program.

This Research Analyst position will work closely with scholars to support 2-3 projects within the Technology and International Affairs program. The Research Analyst will be responsible for research to support Global South-focused scholarship, primarily concerning artificial intelligence, cyber resilience, and digital public infrastructure. Duties will include monitoring policy developments in priority topic areas, producing background research material, and contributing to published analysis. The Research Analyst will also assist with external engagement and communications, organize workshops and meetings, and perform project-related administrative tasks, including tracking project finances and creating meeting records.

The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of related experience. They will have familiarity with qualitative research approaches and an ability to produce high-quality analytical writing. Candidates should be able to balance multiple competing tasks and manage tight deadlines while maintaining a consistently high quality of work. Preferred candidates will demonstrate attention to detail and willingness to take ownership of essential administrative tasks, as well as empathy, intellectual curiosity, and cultural sensitivity.
