Description:

Under the supervision of the Financial Coordinator, you will be responsible for keeping the Headquarters accounts, checking the field accounts (Jordan, Iraq, Colombia and Nigeria), ensuring the budget monitoring of several projects, supporting the field teams and training them if necessary and supporting the management of the organization's compliance and grants activities .

Line management:

The Finance and Grants Officer will work under the supervision of the Financial Coordinator and in close collaboration with the Operations Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure project budget monitoring (on a selection of countries)

1. Monitor project expenses/budgets
2. Check the compliance of expenditure with donor rules
3. Participate in project audits
4. Serve as a focal point for the field team for all financial matters
5. Serve as headquarters focal point for Partners if needed

• Ensure the verification of field accounting (on a selection of countries)

1. Under the supervision of the Financial Coordinator, participate in the monthly control of field accounting and answer mission questions
2. Provide support for field missions on the SAGA software
3. Review mission accounting documents on a monthly basis
4. Participate in internal controls during field visits (development of internal audits)

• Support head office accounting

1. Record headquarters payments regularly in the bank journals to ensure monthly closing;
2. Ensure the reconciliation of ledgers, accounting documents and bank statements;
3. Close the head office accounts monthly in the accounting software (SAGA and ACD)
4. Ensure the archiving of head office paper accounting

• Support the management of compliance and Grants activities

1. Management of landlord portals
2. Serve as a focal point for the field team for any questions related to donor rules
3. Consolidation of project contractual documentation on the organization's platforms
4. Support proposal writing procedures through the consolidation of project proposal documentation and through the submission of project proposals on donor portals.
5. Ensure compliance with the procurement and asset management policy (inform teams of the procedure, review asset registers and review procurement compliance)
6. Support country offices to develop a culture of compliance

Required profile:

Education:

• Bac +2/3 in Accounting/Financial Management, Project Management

LANGUAGES:

• Fluent English
• Fluent French

Experience:

• 3-4 years of experience in a similar position, preferably in the humanitarian/development context
• Field experience is a plus
