Program, Quality and Impact Coordinator in Ouagadougou

The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial contract duration of one year. Employment location will be Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. Depending on the security situation, frequent travel to project locations in the country will be required.

Welthungerhilfe's Country Office in Burkina Faso is working alongside the Burkinabè government to improve food and nutritional security and livelihoods of people affected by poverty and hunger, conflict and natural disasters. As Program, Quality and Impact Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring program quality and sectoral expertise. You will coordinate the pool of sector experts to provide the programmatic and operational support required for the development, implementation and reporting of projects.

Your responsibilities

• Coordinate closely with the Sector Unit at headquarters the support required to achieve the strategic objectives of Welthungerhilfe Burkina Faso
• Ensure the required quality standards in the development of proposals
• Establish strategic partnerships with decentralized technical services and relevant actors to develop and sustain the impact of our programs, and ensure coherence with national plans
• Ensure technical support to the Heads of project and quality assurance and support the creation of synergies across the projects
• Coordinate the pool of sector experts to facilitate the programmatic and operational support to the projects
• Contribute to the implementation and operationalization of a monitoring system to evaluate the impacts of our interventions
• Support the Heads of project in setting up and monitoring their operational plans
• Provide training to Welthungerhilfe staff and partner organization staff on sectoral topics and programmatic tools
• Coordinate the identification and capitalization of best practices at operational level
• Ensure Welthungerhilfe's participation within national coordination platforms and sectoral working groups

Your profile

• A university/college degree or comparable training in a field commensurate with this position
• At least 5-years of working experience in the management and evaluation of emergency and/or development programs
• Demonstrated experience in successfully managing and coordinating multi-sectoral programs
• Robust experience in setting up and implementing quality standards in development programming
• Working experience and technical background in the WASH, infrastructure and/or food security & nutrition sector
• Regional experience working in Burkina Faso would be an advantage
• AA, ECHO, BMZ, GIZ, EU donor experience would be a strong asset
• Strong knowledge of issues relating to social cohesion, do no harm approach, gender and inclusion, climate change, risks and anticipatory measures, resilience
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Readiness to receive necessary vaccinations for working in Welthungerhilfe's programme countries
• Excellent spoken and written French and English; German language skills would be an asset
