Schedule (hours/days): Starting from Sunday through Thursday

Job Summary
Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs is looking for a dynamic, passionate, and self-driven individual for the position of Senior Program Officer for its country office in Bangladesh. The position will support the team in developing, promoting and advocating inclusion of social and behavior (SBC) strategies in health programs and identify capacity and skills gaps and facilitating capacity building events as required for stakeholders, primarily the Directorate General of Health Services’ Bureau of Health Education (BHE) and Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

• Establish relationships with key stakeholders from BHE and EPI to define a shared vision and secure commitment for a sustainable SBC Capacity Ecosystem.
• Provide technical support that is required to BHE and EPI to strengthen SBC programming.
• Participate in SBC meetings, coordination meetings or any other relevant meetings organized by BHE, EPI and its partners.
• Plan and organize scoping visits at national and divisional levels, including conduction of key informant interview with the key stakeholders from BHE, EPI, and their partners.
• Review the existing plans, materials, program and research reports of BHE and EPI.
• Organize workshops with officials from BHE, EPI, other government stakeholders and NGO stakeholders at the national, divisional, and district levels to identifying the data, resources, networks, and activities that are present as well as the ones that are needed or could be strengthened to improve evidence-based decision-making for SBC programs.
• Co-design actions with BHE and EPI for SBC systems strengthening.
• Draft summary reports, workshop reports, and action plans.
Required qualifications, skills and experience

• A master’s degree in mass communication, economics, development studies, sociology, anthropology, statistics, or any other relevant discipline.
• Minimum 8-10 years of progressive professional experience in similar roles.
• Proven experience of working with government institutions, especially the departments and units under the Directorate General of Health Services.
• Excellent working knowledge of computer applications like MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point) and design applications (Adobe Illustrator, Canva).
• Ability to work productively in highly collaborative settings while also able to function independently.
• Demonstrate ability to manage complexity and to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Demonstrate awareness and sensitivity to gender and diversity.

Language Skills: Excellent written and oral skills in Bangla and English.
