Position: Protection Mainstreaming Coordinator

Reports to: Head of Consortium (direct line management) and Protection sub-working group lead (technical line management)

Duty station: Yangon, Myanmar

Travel: 50%

RESPONSIBILITIES

Specific responsibilities

• Support the integration of protection mainstreaming throughout the project cycle.
• Support partner staff efforts in needs assessments, consultations and monitoring of activities to ensure mainstreaming of protection, identification and analysis of protection risks
• Oversee protection and advocacy related data collection activities.
• Based on existing and harmonized tools, develop training materials and undertake the capacity building trainings of international and local partners’ staff and non-staff on protection and protection mainstreaming both in person and remotely
• Contribute to works on accountability to affected population and referral pathways.
• Represent in relevant coordination fora and share information regularly with the Head of Consortium and the Protection sub-working group lead, as requested.
• Act as the PSEA and Child Safeguarding Focal Point for the Consortium, with support from the Protection sub-working group lead.
• Conduct regular field and monitoring visits.

• Working experience in UN, I/LNGOs focused on humanitarian activities.
• Very good command of oral and written English.
• Experience in capacity building and localization.
• Strong coordination and interpersonal skills.
• Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
• Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile.
• Experience working in complex and volatile contexts.
• Willingness to travel frequently within Myanmar.

Context related skills, knowledge and experience:

• Bachelor degree is preferable.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge and skills related protection service delivery and protection mainstreaming in humanitarian response
• Experience in cash programming
• Experience with accountability including PSEA and Child Safeguarding mechanisms
• Knowledge of ECHO and other major donor reporting requirements is a plus.
• Computer skills especially MS Excel and Word.
• Quick starter, ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
• Negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
• High integrity and confidentiality.
• Stress and time management.
