WeWorld is an independent Italian organization born from the union of GVC Onlus (established in Bologna in 1971) and WeWorld (founded in Milan in 1999), with the aim of increasing the impact of Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid projects in 25 countries of intervention, including Italy.

We work to ensure that the fundamental rights of every human being are recognized and satisfied, combating poverty and injustices and generating sustainable and lasting socio-economic growth processes.

Within the Europe Programs Area, we carry out projects at pan-European level, co-financed by national and European institutions (such as the EU's DEAR, Erasmus +, CERV Programs), to raise awareness and education for global citizenship on social justice and climatic; the latter represents a complex challenge for the projects of the Area that requires innovative solutions: the active involvement of citizens and in particular of young people, the promotion and networking of different activism experiences,

Job Description

Within the framework of the activities carried out by the Europe Italy Programs Department, Advocacy Policy Partnership, WeWorld is looking for a Policy, Advocacy Training Officer .

Main duties and responsibilities

The Policy, Advocacy and Training Officer will carry out, in coordination and under the supervision of the Coordinator of the Europe Programs Area, International Policy Advocacy, Evaluation and Partnership, and in collaboration with the other relevant departments (Communication Department and Administration, Finance & Control Department ), and in synergy with the other staff members of the department, the following tasks:

• Scouting, research, data management, first analysis and elaboration of research documents, policy and advocacy, guidelines and training materials and capacity building on the themes of climate change, sustainable production chains, migration, gender, human rights and more in general of sustainable development, education for global citizenship and international cooperation.
• Contribute to the planning, implementation and monitoring of events (training, seminars, workshops, conferences and other public initiatives) of capacity building, discussion and advocacy on the reference topics.
• Contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of content communication actions regarding policies and advocacy initiatives on the reference topics.
• Take part in internal and external meetings, working tables and coordination coherent with the activities coherent with the assumed assignment.
• Develop technical reports on the activities carried out in compliance with the timing of WeWorld and any relevant donors on specific activities.
• Collaborate in carrying out organizational, procurement and administrative activities for the actions in which the Policy, Advocacy and Training Officer will be involved.
• Support for the preparation of financial reporting in compliance with the timing of WeWorld and the main donors of the projects in which the Policy, Advocacy and Training Officer will be involved.
• Organize the collection and analysis of data from partners / beneficiaries / stakeholders and prepare related reports.
• Contribute to the development and management of tools (Organization charts, Registers, GANTT, guidelines, databases or any other useful tool) and monitoring and evaluation of actions carried out nationally and internationally.
• Contribute to the preparation of the annual report of the organization's activities.
• Contribute for the policy and advocacy components to the conception, elaboration and planning of new programs and initiatives.

The collaborator operates in compliance with the procedures, manuals and policies adopted by the organization, guaranteeing their adoption and facilitating compliance even by the collaborators with whom he is in relationship.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications and knowledge:

• Degree in subjects related to international cooperation, social, political, legal or economic sciences and related.
• Knowledge of research, advocacy and youth target engagement tools.
• Excellent knowledge of Italian and English, spoken and written.

Professional experiences:

• Knowledge of the themes of reference.
• At least 2 years experience in advocacy initiatives at Italian and European level and in the elaboration of documents and studies.
• Work experience in Italian, European and international contexts, particularly in the non-profit sector.

Skills and abilities:

• Problem solving aptitude and ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Ability to use modern project management tools: planning, templates for managing multinational projects, monitoring and reporting.
• Aptitude for teamwork, dynamism, critical spirit and the ability to work towards objectives and on time.
• Strong commitment to the WeWorld Mission and sincere interest in international cooperation and development topics.
• Sensitivity and adaptability to different cultural contexts, gender, religion, ethnicity, nationality and age.
• Availability for short missions in Italy and Europe.

It is an advantage:

• Capacity to manage projects co-financed by the European Union.
• Experience in relationships with national, international and European institutions (eg European Parliament, European Commission, United Nations, etc.), policy makers, civil society, young people, private sector.
