Note, this role is restricted to PhD students/candidates, postdocs and advanced Masters students who are enrolled on a defined PhD pathway. Applicants who do not meet these criteria will not be considered.

E-International Relations is looking for emerging academics (Phd students, postdocs etc.) at an early stage in their career to join our team. The role involves contacting, and then working, with authors in the fields you are researching to commission unique articles for the website. You can also assist us review book manuscripts and chapters, and take part in other activities. So, a dynamic and rewarding role for anyone looking to widen their horizons academically and who enjoys reading – and helping disseminate – the latest research in their field.

We do not limit ourselves to Politics/International Relations – if you come from a different academic area but have something to say about political/international issues, you are welcome to apply.

The tasks of a Commissioning Editor are built around flexible time that you can fit around your busy schedule. You are empowered to set your own agenda and come up with different ideas for who/what to commission, and sometimes you also are invited respond to ideas our team suggests for content that might be opportune to seek out. Our editors also get to network with our wider editorial team, building up links for collaborations and future projects that add value to your academic and professional journey.

Every piece of work a Commissioning Editor contributes to is given credit, which appears permanently on the article (or book) you work on – giving you a verified record of your efforts.
