Global Safeguarding Lead

London/ UK remote homebased.

The post holder will require the right to work in their homebased location and national terms and conditions will apply. This role is classified as requiring advanced pre-employment checks.

About the opportunity

The Global Safeguarding Lead will solely oversee all areas of safeguarding on behalf of the RI Alliance, including ensuring that we uphold our responsibilities to the children and vulnerable adults participating in our programs as well as to RI’s own staff and associates around the world.

A critical part of this role will be to strengthen and deliver RI’s safeguarding framework across the organization to ensure that safeguarding is an integral part of everything that RI does.

You will also manage and coordinate investigations into safeguarding violations and strengthen the capacity of our country program staff and key focal points across the organization to raise awareness and champion best practice.

About you

You will bring a degree or equivalent experience in social work or/ and in international development, with a proven track record of giving technical safeguarding advice, implementing safeguarding policy and practices in large/complex organisations.

Your strong interpersonal, communication and training skills will be essential in your approach to influencing and building the capacity of a range of internal stakeholders and partners across diverse locations and cultures.

Previously supported the design and implementation of humanitarian and/or development programming –including conducting safeguarding risk assessments, risk mitigation planning, and the development of effective complaints and feedback mechanisms. In addition, bringing significant experience in conducting and coordinating safeguarding investigations and case management with the skills to deal appropriately with sensitive issues as they arise.
