Context
The World Organisation for Animal Health, previously known as the “Office international des epizooties” (OIE), was created on 25 January 1924. Its headquarters are in Paris. The OIE comprises 182 Member Countries and is present on all continents through 12 (Sub-) Regional Representations. The OIE is in charge of improving animal health, veterinary public health and animal welfare worldwide, as well as transparency of the global animal disease situation. The OIE is furthermore recognised by the World Trade Organization as the reference organisation for intergovernmental standards concerning the sanitary safety of international trade of animals and products of animal origin and zoonoses.
The OIE is looking for a motivated intern for an internship to temporarily assist the Procurement Manager
The various missions that will be entrusted to the intern will give him/her the opportunity to better understand international procurement procedures;
And represent a chance to get familiar with an international non-profit organization
Positioning and reporting
The intern will be under the supervision of the Procurement Manager and in collaboration with relevant staff within the department and across other OIE departments.
Internship role and activities
The Intern will participate in the following activities:
? Supporting prescribing services in formalizing their needs,
? Administrative monitoring of the various procurement procedures in force within the OIE,
? Drafting, processing and management of calls for tenders and consultations with OIE suppliers,
? Deployment and management of dematerialization tools that will be put in place within the OIE,
? Updating / setting up: framework documents proposed for procurement, procedure monitoring tables, internal purchasing nomenclature, OIE multi-year program
Depending on the profile, additional missions may be added.
Upon completion of the internship, the intern will provide a final report summarising activities undertaken and follow-up actions required
Required Skills and Experience
Education
Candidates must meet one of the following educational requirements:
? higher education (Bac + 4 / + 5) in public law and a dominant public business law, public contract law, with an interest in the implementation of international projects
Requirements - Technical skills
? Good knowledge of how the devolution of public contracts works,
? Excellent command, both written and spoken, of French & English;
? Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, interpersonal);
? Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office management, Excel
? Spirit of analysis & synthesis
Additional language skills
? Spanish is an asset.

Internship conditions
The OIE will provide a stipend in the amount of 633,75 € monthly for full time work;
The intern will work remotely (until clearance for return to office) as a safety measure against the COVID-19 pandemic. He/she will work online and report to the supervisor of this internship. He/she is not expected to travel during the assignment.
This is a full-time internship based in Paris, France.
The intern will be expected to participate in virtual meetings, as well as other OIE meetings of interest. Guidance will be provided on a regular basis.
The maximum internship duration is 6 months; The intern must provide proof of enrolment in health insurance plan;
