The mission of The Tandana Foundation (TTF) is: “To support the achievement of community goals and address global inequalities through caring intercultural relationships that embody mutual respect and responsibility.”

The Tandana Foundation is looking for a mission-driven person to lead our programs near Otavalo, Ecuador. The Ecuador Program Manager (EPM) will manage a diverse team of 5+, and lead Tandana’s work in Ecuador by developing strong relationships with a variety of community partners and other stakeholders. The EPM will maintain clear, transparent, and compelling communication both within the organization, and with partners. We are especially looking for someone who identifies strongly with our mission and who is excited to make a long-term commitment to both our organization and to the people we serve in the Otavalo region.

The position will remain open until we find the right person. Start date is negotiable.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and supervise the Ecuador team
• Oversee volunteer programs and community initiatives, including the scholarship program, the public health program, and various community projects
• Maintain and develop relationships with many stakeholders, including community members, volunteers, government entities, and others
• Keep records, provide material for communications and promotions, manage funds carefully, and take responsibility for Ecuador operations

A successful candidate must have:

• Passion for Tandana’ mission and for fostering positive relationships
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop rapport with people from many different backgrounds
• A strong track record of responsibility and ownership as a leader
• Excellent oral communication skills in Spanish
• Professional oral communication skills in English
• Familiarity with and respect for the cultures of Otavalo and the United States
• Conflict resolution and customer service skills
• Flexibility and the ability to transition quickly between many kinds of tasks

In addition, it is beneficial but not required for a candidate to have:

• Working oral communication skills in Kichwa
• Strong written communication skills
• Two or more years’ experience managing teams
• Strong administrative skills
• Wilderness First Aid Certification

Benefits

• Salary Range of $22,000-$30,000 annually ($1,833 – $2,500 monthly), commensurate with experience
