Samsung Electronics has unveiled the all-new Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9, introducing a new generation of AI-powered smartwatches designed to deliver deeper health insights through continuous biometric monitoring.

The company said the new lineup is aimed at making proactive healthcare more accessible by transforming complex health data into personalised, actionable guidance through devices that users can comfortably wear throughout the day.

To support 24/7 wearability, Samsung has equipped the new smartwatches with the largest battery, brightest display, and the Snapdragon Wear Elite Platform, offering improved performance, longer battery life and enhanced comfort.

"Samsung is committed to helping people live better. We want to make the shift from reactive treatment to proactive care as seamless as possible. By integrating everyday devices with our global scale, we're building a deeply connected health experience," said TM Roh, Chief Executive Officer, President and Head of the Device eXperience (DX) Division at Samsung Electronics.

"The new Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9 represent a massive leap forward in Samsung's health vision. By continuously tracking health data from the wrist, these new watches act as a vigilant health companion, turning daily vital signs into proactive, actionable insights and providing timely alerts," he added.

Galaxy Watch Ultra2

Samsung described the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 as its most advanced smartwatch to date, designed for outdoor enthusiasts, endurance athletes and users seeking rugged durability alongside advanced health monitoring.

The watch introduces dedicated tracking modes for outdoor sports, including a new Trail Run feature that monitors elevation, climbing progress and terrain impact to help users pace themselves and reduce the risk of injury.

A new Nutrition Alert feature complements the existing Sweat Loss function by estimating sweat loss relative to body weight and providing real-time hydration guidance to help users maintain peak performance during endurance activities.

Dive-ready smartwatch

The Galaxy Watch Ultra2 also expands its capabilities for water sports and professional diving.

Rated IP69K, 10 ATM, and EN13319-certified, the smartwatch can automatically record diving metrics such as depth, dive duration and water temperature upon entering the water.

Later this year, Samsung will introduce an exclusive Diving app developed in partnership with Mares, one of the world's leading diving equipment manufacturers. The app will offer advanced features such as ascent and descent speed monitoring and safe dive limit tracking.

Bigger battery, brighter display

The Galaxy Watch Ultra2 is powered by a massive 800mAh battery, representing a 35% increase over its predecessor. Combined with the new Snapdragon Wear Elite Platform, Samsung says the watch delivers faster performance, improved power efficiency and more accurate GPS tracking.

The smartwatch also features what Samsung claims is the world's first smartwatch display capable of reaching 5,000 nits of peak brightness, ensuring clear visibility even in direct sunlight.

Slimmer yet more durable

Despite housing a significantly larger battery, Samsung has reduced the Galaxy Watch Ultra2's thickness by 12% through extensive internal redesign.

The smartwatch retains its shock-resistant titanium casing while introducing lighter, softer watch bands to improve comfort and enable continuous wear throughout the day.

Samsung said the slimmer profile, combined with improved ergonomics, allows the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 to transition seamlessly from rugged outdoor adventures to everyday use while maintaining highly accurate biometric tracking and enhanced wearing comfort.
