02 May 2017: Thirty-five United Kingdom troops arrive in Juba, to join the British contingent of the UN Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS). This brings the size of the UK deployment with UNMISS to 240 personnel, a number expected to rise to 400 in the coming months. The UK contingent provides engineering and medical support to UNMISS.
