Specific roles and responsibility:
• Provide expertise on qualitative and quantitative data collection methods.
• Contribution to oversight of methodology as needed.
• Identifying useful sources of information with access to local volunteer sources spread across Africa.
• Identifying and liaising new partnerships to help further expand the GBV Observatory as required.
• Actively seek collaboration with other gender and violence researchers or institutions.
• Source available research resources to expand offerings of the GBV Observatory.
• Write articles, blogs and reports for wide dissemination.
• Participate and/or make presentations of preliminary findings in online discussions and platforms.
• Provide monthly country updates for assigned areas in collaboration with country-based volunteers.
• Represent the Observatory at relevant platforms where requested.
Qualifications
• A post-graduate degree in a relevant subject and experience in research on gender issues.
Essential
• Knowledge of research approaches and methodologies in gender, violence, development and human rights.
• Able to handle a large volume of work under pressure and with deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal and oral communications skills.
• Strong writing and editing, critical thinking and analysis skills.
• Experience creating and disseminating communications across various medium.
Other
Familiarity with data analysis and visualization software
Access to a computer, a reliable internet connection, email, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
