• Assist in proof-reading, copy-editing and aligning the language along with ensuring consistency of content for all publications/technical outputs under the project;
• Support in preparing templates for knowledge management and working with project specialists and staff for incorporating feedback to the designed templates;
• Copy-edit the content to be uploaded on the project knowledge hub;
• Assist in ensuring plagiarism is checked, project branding guidelines are followed and references are complete and accurate;
• Assist in maintaining a database of all final outputs and other relevant documents;
• Performing other relevant tasks as assigned by the Project Director.
E. Qualifications and Competencies
• An advanced degree in English, Journalism, Communications or any relevant discipline.
• At least 9 years of professional experience in the technical editing
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in technical editing in the development sector (climate change ad, disaster risk reduction, etc.) preferred.
• Strong writing and communication skills in addition to copy-editing and proofreading
• Technical understanding specific to Climate Adaptation and Resilience will be considered a strong asset
• Demonstrated experience with organizing, interpreting and presenting information in a clear written form for varied audiences
• Understanding of graphic design and/or design software skills will be an added advantage
• Well versed in using tools for editing, plagiarism checking and developing quality content
• Experience of working effectively with a diverse and multi-cultural team including the ability to liaise with technical staff and present information in a clear, concise and engaging style.
• Proficiency in English language.
F. Reporting Relationships
The Technical Copy Editor will report directly to the Project Director (PD) and will work in close coordination with the PIU, CARE for South Asia Project.
G. Contract Duration
The contract duration will be for 1 year. The consultant’s performance will be reviewed on a quarterly basis.
H. Selection Method
The consultant will be selected in accordance with ADPC’s recruitment process and in compliance with the World Bank Procurement Regulations.
