Another task of yours will be to be an evaluator and assess programmatic outputs and key achievements against agreed annual or biannual plans. The successful candidate ensures that relevant training, education and outreach activities are adequately addressed. In addition, this tole requires drafting of relevant correspondence, briefing notes, analytical and assessment reports in support or on behalf of the Head of the Branch.

Qualifications and Experience
Education
You should have an advanced university degree in Political Sciences, International Relations, Economics, Law or related area. A first level university degree in combination with qualifying experience (minimum 7 years) may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Knowledge and Experience
Make sure you have at least 5 years of relevant experience in the field of technical cooperation/assistance or international development cooperation with an advanced degree, or 7 years with a first level degree, including at least 3 years of work experience at the international level in a relevant area; thorough knowledge and experience in programme or project planning, implementation and monitoring; practical knowledge of programme/project evaluation techniques and approaches.
Desirable:
• Experience in capacity building approaches, including through remote/virtual means, and identifying and analysing relevant needs and issues, developing suitable strategic approaches and implementing them in an international context;
• Experience with implementing programme/project management cycles, preferably in an international context, and with exposure to collaboration with or in developing countries or countries in transition;
• Experience with programme/project evaluation and related impact analysis;
• Practical knowledge and experience in logical framework approach.
Skills and Competencies
To succeed in this role you will need the following skills and competencies:
• Excellent and proven planning, organisational, coordination, negotiation and problem-solving skills;
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills;
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills (verbal and written) including the ability to prepare and formulate reports, with demonstrated ability to apply tact and accuracy and to present information clearly and logically both in writing and verbally;
• Excellent drafting skills in English;
• Proven ability in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with people from diverse backgrounds;
• Flexibility and ability to work under pressure;
• Computer literacy (word processing, databases, spreadsheets and email);
• Knowledge of the CWC and the activities of the OPCW.
• Languages
• Fluency in English is essential and a good working knowledge of one of the other official languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish) is desirable.
Additional Information
This fixed-term appointment is for the duration of two years with a six-month probationary period, and is subject to the OPCW Staff Regulations and Interim Staff Rules.
The OPCW is a non-career organisation with limited staff tenure. The total length of service for Professional staff shall not exceed 7 years.
The Director-General retains the discretion to not make any appointment to this vacancy, to make an appointment at a lower grade, or to make an appointment with a modified job description. Several vacancies may be filled.
