POSITION OVERVIEW
EDGE Funders Alliance is seeking a full-time Programs Manager to lead the design and implementation of all programmatic initiatives (in-person and online), support learning and collaboration among network members and social movement allies through our intersectional justice initiatives, contribute to approaches that increase the visibility of the organization to key audiences, and advance strategic goals.

This is an ideal role for someone who is interested in being a part of a small, decentralized, global team that works closely to build collective power for change through funder and social movement organizing. The Programs Manager will ensure that EDGE’s programs are aligned with our values and meaningfully contribute to our goals, and supervise the Programs and Communications Coordinator’s work to implement a communications approach that is integrated into and adds value to the programmatic and organizational strategies.

We are open to candidates based worldwide, though the Programs Manager must be comfortable working remotely and with colleagues located across multiple time zones since most of our members are based in the United States and Europe. We are looking for an organized and motivated professional who shares our values, is committed to intersectional justice, and interested in strengthening the programmatic infrastructure of an expanding, global organization.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Programs
Lead the design and implementation of all ongoing programs and special projects (see list here: https://bit.ly/EDGE-info), including creating the annual work plan for carrying out the priorities of the organizational strategy.
Work with the Director of Finance and Operations to develop and manage all program budgets
Work with the Executive Director and Membership and Engagement Manager to identify, design, and carry out opportunities to advance field learning and build effective alliances.
Document and share program information with the staff, board, funder members, and social movement allies to support collaboration, learning, and fundraising.
Lead and participate in planning retreats, team building, and regular check-in meetings with staff and board.
Identify partnership opportunities with network members, social movements, civil society organizations, and funders to advance field learning and build effective alliances.
Contribute to the development of an evaluation and learning framework to assess the impact of the organization’s work and surface areas for improvement.
Support the Director of Finance and Operations with determining needs and devising solutions that support information sharing and collaboration among the team.
Participate in meetings, convenings, and webinars to maintain knowledge of current and emerging trends in philanthropy and social movements.
Build and manage relationships with external consultants, as needed.
Communications

Support the Programs and Communications Coordinator to develop and implement a plan for integrated communications, create and maintain a program and communications calendar to coordinate activities, and design methods to evaluate the effectiveness of communications activities.
Supervise and complete performance assessments and contribute to the professional development of the Programs and Communications Coordinator.
Proactively seek out opportunities to share EDGE’s work with key audiences in alignment with the goals in the communications plan.

QUALIFICATIONS
Relevant experience and record of success in a leadership role that is responsible for program strategy, design, and implementation, preferably in an international context in the nonprofit, civil society, or philanthropy sectors.
Demonstrated ability to balance big picture, long-term, strategic thinking with understanding and executing the day-to-day tasks of multiple projects.
Clear understanding of the role of philanthropy and of civil society organizations and a commitment to mobilizing resources for social movements and systemic alternatives.
Knowledge and experience working on intersectional justice issues (especially gender, racial, economic, and climate justice) with a clear understanding or systemic change approaches. Familiarity with Just Transition frameworks is an asset.
Ability to build relationships across sectors and work with funders and civil society actors.
Strong project and people management skills, including experience supervising staff
Working knowledge of programmatic evaluation approaches
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Google Online Office Tools, Zoom, and Asana is an asset.
High emotional intelligence and strong capacity to self-manage, multitask, prioritize, work collaboratively, diagnose problems and find creative solutions, and learn from mistakes.
Understanding of and ability to address power dynamics, such as gender and racial inequalities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Knowledge of French and/or Spanish is considered an asset.
Comfort working in a remote, decentralized, multicultural team and the flexibility to work across time zones.
Travel is required 20% of the time when it is safe to do so.

WHAT WE OFFER
The Program Manager is a full-time position with an employee contract. The benefits will comply with the labor laws of the country where the person is based and will include, at minimum, health care coverage and retirement benefits.

We anticipate holding screening calls the week of June 6th, holding first-round interviews the weeks of June 13th and 20th, and holding final interviews the week of July 11th.
