• Works with PIN’s Communication and Advocacy Department to ensure technically-strong communication pieces and advocacy messages
• Coordinates support to PIN’s Country Programmes with other Advisors working within the Climate Resilience pillar
• Ensures Country Programmes are provided with holistic and coordinated support from HQ on “greening” office operations and programmes, ensuring donor compliance and coordinating with other Advisors and HQ support departments
• Supports Country Programmes to build partnerships with local climate change actors and activists
• Explores and pursues new funding opportunities, including carbon financing
• Provides technical support to PIN’s Country Programmes to be able to design programmes that respond to carbon financing requirements
Coordination with KLD members and other HQ staff
• Participates in regular meetings of the Knowledge and Learning Department (KLD) and contributes to the agenda.
• Maintains and contributes to KLD products (Knowledge and Learning Centre, Indikit, etc) on Climate Change.
Follows agreed KLD priorities, annual plan, and administrative instructions.
Main requirements:
• Minimum 5 years of programme management experience
• Relevant experience in international contexts
• Experience in developing and managing partnerships
• Technical knowledge in at least one area related to climate change programming: carbon financing; market systems development and livelihoods support; flood risk management; natural resource/watershed management and prevention of land degradation; social safety nets; emergency response to natural disasters; clean/renewable energy
• Excellent communication, facilitation and presentation skills
• Strong capacity in leading proposal development
• Strong communication, facilitation and presentation skills
• Fluency in English both written and verbal
• Willingness to travel to PIN RDD’s Country Programmes (max. 20% of travel time per year)
