Our Climate Change Group (CCG) works with those who have less voice and power in climate decision-making to co-create solutions that shape pathways and drive action for a just and sustainable future.

The CCG’s Climate Governance and Finance Team collaborates with public sector institutions, civil society actors and private sector entities to design and test innovative solutions to climate change risks across the developing world.

We are currently looking for a Researcher to join us in London or Edinburgh to join our Climate Governance and Finance Team. Due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation, the role will initially be home based.

This is an exciting entry level role that will enable you to gain first class insight and first-hand experience into international development and climate finance.

You will have the chance to work alongside a highly skilled team and get involved with innovative initiatives that will make a real difference and support the response to the global climate emergency.

The Role

As a Researcher, you will support the design and implementation of an innovative policy research and influencing projects.

The projects you will be involved with will revolve around reforming the international climate finance system and supporting a wide range of organisations and institutions to develop structures and financial mechanisms to access and use finance more effectively.

You will aim to increase the quality and quantity of the finance that is available for local work and provide support to national and local governments, civil society organisations (CSOs), local private sector actors and communities.

About You

To join us as a Researcher, you will need:

• Work experience in research, advocacy or policy advice, ideally on climate or development finance
• A degree in a discipline related to climate change, sustainable development, economics etc.
• Knowledge of institutions, actors, and current debates and research agendas in the field of climate or development finance
• An understanding of the how to work effectively with partners in developing countries, including work with government, civil society organisations and communities
• Advanced knowledge of office software (word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, databases and communications)
