The Research and Policy Analyst will join our research team in an exciting project on improving survey tools and methodologies for measuring the prevalence of traditional methods of contraception and will use qualitative methods to understand the motivations for using the methods.

The job holder will serve as a technical project Manager for the Kenya and DRC components of the project and contribute to crosscutting aspects of the whole project.

Applicants should have a PhD in either Demography, Social Statistics, Sociology, Epidemiology, Economics, or related social science. Formal training in technical demography, including life tables, demographic rates, proximate determinants of fertility, multiple decrement tables is required.

Candidates should also have a minimum of three years’ experience in managing large scale surveys and qualitative data collection, have strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills and proven experience in writing journal publications. This position is based at AFIDEP’s Nairobi office.
