Action Against Hunger - USA invites nominations and applications for the position of Director of Human Resources (HR). Action Against Hunger - USA is part of the Action Against Hunger global network, the only NGO exclusively focused on ending hunger and acute malnutrition. Over the past 40 years, Action Against Hunger has led a global movement that successfully reduced the proportion of hungry children by half. Collectively, the network provided lifesaving assistance to 21.2 million vulnerable people in nearly 50 countries in 2018. Action Against Hunger - USA, operates with a staff of 1,600 across eight countries, primarily in East Africa.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director of HR for Action Against Hunger- USA will advise the senior management team and lead the creation of initiatives, systems, and best practices that are aimed at recruiting, developing, and retaining a diverse high-performing global workforce. The next Director of HR will collaborate with the CEO in setting strategic goals that build and sustain a culture of excellence across all offices. The ideal candidate will be a human resources professional with deep administrative experience at an international organization, who understands innovative practices in the field, has exceptional interpersonal and managerial skills, and demonstrates impeccable judgment and ethics. The next Director of HR should have a professional certification from a reputable organization such as SHRM, CIPD, or HRCI. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or a related field; though a Master’s degree is preferred.
