Balochistan: Exiled politician arrested upon return to Pakistan
Quetta, Sep 23 (JEN): Balochistan's self-exiled politician and nationalist leader Nawabzada Ghazeen Marri courted arrest upon his return to Pakistan, 18 years after he set foot on his home soil, reports said.

Marri is the son of late Baloch nationalist politician Nawab Khair Bukhsh Marri.

He was arrested as soon as he arrived at the Quetta airport, local Express Tribune quoted witnesses as saying.

Marri, who has earlier served as the Home Minister of Balochistan province, had spent his exile in the Gulf, but expressed his interests of coming back and spend the rest of his life with his own people.

"I've spent 18 years in exile. Now, I want to live rest of my life with my people," he had said.

Police arrested him on charges of killing a high court judge in 2000, prompting his lawyer to cry foul as he had already secured a 'protective bail'.

His lawyer has also claimed that Marri has been moved to an undisclosed location, making it difficult for the former to establish a connection with the latter.

Following his arrival announcement, the Balochistan government had said that it has 'no objection' with the former's return, but stated that 'he would have to face the law if proven guilty of the charges presently he's facing'.
